Owner // Cory Carr, PT, CWT


Cory has been involved with college, high school and youth athletics in southwest Missouri since he graduated from Missouri State in 1997. He is a former Division I athlete and National High School All-American. He has coached back-to-back State Championship teams for the Springfield Soccer Club and was named Missouri Coach of the Year for 2007. He holds degrees in Biomedical Science and Psychology, a Masters degree in Physical Therapy and is a Certified Weight Trainer. Cory has a passion for the pursuit of knowledge and athletic success and he has a strong belief system that drives him in his own personal success. He believes that each individual has unique talents that were given to them for a purpose and it is our job to develop and use those talents in a positive way. He also believes in the power of a healthy body and soul and that both are essential to fulfilling our purpose and potential in life. As a Physical Therapist he possesses unique skills that when combined with his thirst for knowledge, teaching ability and desire to help people on their quest for health, has lead to the development of The Sport Performance Edge.



Jill Carr, CPA // Co-Owner

Jill is Cory's wife and business partner.  Jill graduated Summa Cum Laude from Missouri State University in 1999.  Jill is a certified public accountant, thus she handles the business side of things.  Cory and Jill have 4 children: Caroline Sundance, Matthew Redford, Luke Zion and Samuel Utah.  They strongly believe we are to love and help all people and that is what they strive for in their business.  Everyday Jill strives to be a light to others and follow her #1 love - Jesus.  Cory - takes #2 and their 4 kids come right after.  Life is short but God is Big.  Set your minds on things above.  Don't hesitate to contact Jill with any questions. 


Laura Laurie // Floor Manager/PT Aide

In 2010 Laura graduated with a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion at Missouri State University.  Laura was a 4 year student athlete on the Missouri State Women's Soccer Team.  In High School Laura was on the varsity squad at Ursuline Academy in St.Louis, Missouri all 4 years.  During high school she was Two-time first team all-conference pick, two-time all-metro selection, and second-team all state choice.  Laura is very passionate about helping others get strong and fit and she's great with coaching others. Laura is married to Shane Laurie and they have 2 boys: Graham and Vincent.



Paige Hill // PT Aide

Paige attended Nixa High School where she was a 4 year All-State swimmer. She continued her swimming career at William Jewell College where she competed in distance freestyle and butterfly events. In her 2 year attendance at Jewell she was an All-Conference athlete. Due to knee and shoulder injuries she ended her swimming career 2 years early and came back to Springfield to attend Missouri State University and is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise and Movement Science. Paige, through personal experience with injuries has gained a passion for the quality of life and has made it her goal to help others improve theirs not only physically but mentally as well. 


Erin Mitchem // Clinic Manager // PT AIDE//

Erin Mitchem went to Spokane High School where she was a 5 sport athlete. Erin received  All County, All Conference, All District, and All State awards while playing volleyball and led her team to a 3rd place finish in the state tournament.  She went on to play volleyball at Missouri Southern State University and helped her team advance to the NCAA tournament and ranking top 25 in the nation. Her junior year she transferred to College of the Ozarks where she received the Conference New Comer of the Year award and 1st team All Conference honors along with a trip to the national tournament. She graduated with a degree in Kinesiology/ Health and Wellness with a minor in Business. When she finished her playing career she joined the coaching staff at C of O as the Student Assistant/ setting coach. After graduating, Erin became an Assistant Coach at the University of Miamiin Miami Florida. She assisted the team as the Hurricanes made their way to the second round of the NCAA National Tournament.  In 2013, she became the interim coach at Spokane High School. Her team won conference and district titles and she was named SWCL Coach of the Year.

Erin has coached club volleyball for 10 years helping multiple players get college scholarships. She has a passion for coaching and training others to better themselves on and off the court.

Meg Lowe // Physical Therapist

Meg graduated from Southwest Baptist University with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy and holds a degree in  Exercise Science from Western Michigan University. She has a passion for running and was on both the track and field and cross country team in high school. Since then, she has continued to race in obstacle course races, numerous half marathons, marathons and most recently triathlons.  Outside of the fitness world, she is very passionate about the environment and protecting our oceans. Her skills and knowledge as a Physical Therapist will allow her to promote healing and wellness and help people live their lives to the fullest.



Blake McKnight // PT AIDE

Blake graduated from Evangel University with a degree in exercise science. He also played baseball at Evangel and was an All-American his senior year. Blake was drafted by the STL Cardinals and played parts of 5 seasons in their minor league system, finishing his career as a member of the Springfield Cardinals. He also works as an assistant coach for the EU baseball team and gives private pitching and strength training lessons. He enjoys anything related to human health and performance and is passionate about helping others reach their full potential.”

Karli Bird //

Karli Bird is a Senior at Utah Valley University pursuing a degree in Health Education and Administration. With hopes of taking over the University of Utah’s Athletic Administration department for Women’s Lacrosse. She has been playing lacrosse for 15 years and recognized as an MVP, All-Conference Midfielder, Utah All-Star and was recruited by 42 colleges and universities across the country to play lacrosse. On the field, she will only respond to her nickname of “Grandma.” Karli is a former Miss Draper and Miss Utah Valley University, receiving over $10,000 in scholarships from the Miss America Organization.

She is obsessed with fitness, sports and competition.

Paige Bryson // PT AIDE

Paige went to Copper Hills High School where she was a part of the varsity cheerleading team for 3 years. She was also a part of her high school water polo team for 4 years, competing as all-state goalie in 2010. She was captain of both her cheerleading team and water polo team during her senior year. Paige also spent her off-season from water polo as part of the cross-country team. After graduating high school Paige joined an All-Star competitive cheerleading program and began coaching. Paige has been coaching athletes of all ages and skill level since 2011 and is certified up to level 5 in both tumbling and stunting through the USASF. Paige loves coaching and working with athletes because she loves to watch the progress athletes are able to make in one year. Paige graduated from the University of Utah in 2015 with a double Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology and in Human Development and Family Studies. Paige is pursuing her Masters of Science Degree in Sport and Performance Psychology and plans to become a Certified Mental Performance Consultant. Paige has a passion for training and helping others be successful not only in their sport but in all aspects of their life.
